DISCOVER WMVA 3-SPORT PROGRAM...
This program will focus on the basic skills of throwing, catching, jumping and kicking. These will be integrated into an introduction to volleyball, basketball and soccer. It is open to all athletes from grades 2-6.
The 3-sport program is a nine-week development program for young athletes 6-12 years of age. It involves the participation of instructors teaching young athletes the FUNdamentals of mini-volleyball, mini-basketball and mini-soccer.
This WMVA initiative is designed to help local basketball, volleyball, and soccer programs better meet the Sport Canada Long-Term Athlete Development model (LTAD). It strongly supports the principle of younger children being exposed to several sports rather than specializing.
These are nine-week development camps which are held in the fall, winter and spring. This program is the first of its kind in the community and we hope it will allow more children to participate in more sports. The goal is to increase participation. Age Group:
