•  Sportsmanship, camaraderie and having fun are the 3 most important things in all WMVA activities. Please keep these in mind when playing.

• Captains must email scores in by 5:00pm the day following their games. If this is not done, a tie or loss will be recorded. No exceptions.

•  Except for the changes noted, all FIVB official volleyball rules apply.

•  Teams play 6-a-side for recreational and competitive leagues. You must have at least 4 on the court to start/continue playing (min. 2 of each gender). The woman have to be opposite from each other.

•  Scoring is according to the "Rally Point System". Each time a team wins a rally, that team scores a point, regardless of which team served.

•  Matches are played to 25 points; In all cases, the winning team must be ahead by at least 2 points. You will play 2 different teams per evening. Should your game finish early, please wait until the whistle is blown or the time has run out. Should your game not be over, the score at the time the whistle is blown will be recorded.

•  The game is self-officiated; the person who commits the foul is responsible for calling it.

•  Play on YOUR SIDE of the net. I.E. do not reach over and interfere with your opponents' play.

•  No blocking serves.

•  If, when serving, the ball touches the net but makes it over, the play continues.

• Teams having to play with 1 woman will take an 8-point penalty. The score starts at 8-0 for the opposing team. No women will be an automatic default.

• Our nets will be set on a height between woman's and men's level, allowing everyone to play equally.
