Introduction:

Winter registration is now on. Please click on the "League Registration" button on the right-hand side of the page.

These are fair play teams with volunteer parent coaches/team managers. Each team has the option to practice once a week and plays league matches on Sunday afternoons. Athletes are not required to try out for a team, however, participation is subject to the availability of volunteer coaches/team managers.   

Boys and girls teams compete Sunday afternoons and practice once a week at a school in their area. Please note that Sunday league matches may involve some travel. Venues have included Salisbury Morse Place School, Lavallee School and CMU.
 
Practice times are posted on our "Practice Schedule" page when we start receiving them. Please remember that any practices that are listed were for last season and may change. The coach has the right to pick the night for the team's practice. See our "Contact List" page for the regional convenor in your area. they may be able to tell you who the coach will be and where practices might be.

Program Details:

Four Divisions:

  • Bantam boys: athletes in grades 6-9. (cancelled)
  • Bantam girls: athletes in grades 7-8.
  • Midget girls: athletes in grades 9 & 10.
  • Juvenile girls: athletes in grades 11 & 12.

    NOTE: Athletes can play up depending on ability. Please make the request in the "Comments" section of the registration form. 

    League Play: 

    • Venues: Salisbury Morse Place School, 795 Prince Rupert Ave.; Lavallee School, 505 Ste. Anne's Rd.
    • Dates: Sunday, October 16 - March 11, 2012.
    • Times: Start times begin at noon and run throughout the afternoon.  

    Registration information for FULL SEASON includes: 

    • Early bird registration fee: $225. From August 02-31, 2011.
    • Regular registration fee: $245. From Sept. 01-Oct. 10, 2011.
    • Registration deadline: Monday, October 10, 2011.

    Our registration fee of $245 is the cost of our indoor volleyball program from October through to March.

    Registration information for WINTER SEASON includes: 

    • Early bird registration fee: $145. From November 01-30, 2011.
    • Regular registration fee: $165. From December 01, 2011.
    • Registration deadline: January 8, 2012. Our registration fee is the cost of our indoor volleyball program from January through March.

    Coaches: Parents interested in becoming a volunteer coach/assistant coach are asked to contact Luc Tremblay, WMVA Head Coach at info@minorvolleyball.com .

    Coach our Coaches: A certified WMVA coach will be available for the first three weeks of the season during our Sunday league matches. A spare court is kept free for athletes to arrive early and warm-up. The WMVA Instructor is available to answer any questions coaches might have about training and team tactics.

    Fall Practices: Are held in the area athletes reside in. Coaches are secured and they then accept their practice venues/nights and begin contacting their athletes. If you did not hear from a coach by October 10 please contact us at info@minorvolleyball.com 

    Tournaments: Our December Challenge Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, December 11, 2011. Details will be provided two weeks prior to the event. Our season-ending Championship tournament is scheduled for March 11, 2012.

  • How to Register:

    There are three ways to register:
     
    1- On-line Registration: To register on-line for our indoor youth volleyball league simply click on the "League Registration" button on the right-hand side of this page. 

    Once you submit the form you will be e-mailed a receipt. That is your copy of the Child Tax Credit and your confirmation that the registration was properly received.

    2- Mail-in Registration: To register by mail for our fall/winter indoor youth volleyball league simply print the "WMVA League Registration Form".

    Please remember to forward the completed form and mail it to the address listed on the form along with your payment in full. In this case, you will be forwarded a confirmation e-mail and tax receipt via e-mail following the conclusion of the session. If you do not receive an e-mail confirming reception of the form within 10 working days please contact us at info@minorvolleyball.com .

    3- In Person: To register in person simply drop by our offices at: unit B-2003 Portage ave. (across from Assiniboine Park). Please call ahead to make an appointment as staff are in and out.

    IMPORTANT NOTICES:

    1- Having friends on your team: Please make sure to list athletes you would like on your team in the "comments" section. Otherwise, athletes are placed on teams by the Executive Director. This is done as athletes are registered and is on-going. To communicate directly with Abby Carlson simply e-mail her at ACarlson@askSam.ca .

    2- Family Discount: If you are registering more than one child you are entitled to a 25% discount on the second child and 50% discount on any additional children. That being said, you must mail your registration forms along with your cheque to take advantage of our family discount.

    3- Youth Fall & Winter League: Our registration fee of $245 is the cost of our volleyball program from October 16, 2011 through to March 11, 2012.
