| Recognition & Awards |
The WMVA also believes that recognition, especially in young athletes, is key to give each athlete the strive and commitment towards sport activities. It is important that we recognize these athletes and make sure, they get rewarded for the efforts, skills, and commitments to their team, this league and most of all to themselves.
Therefore, for the first time, we will host our annual Awards Banquet for our Community Club athletes to recognize their skill and passion to this sport. The people we cannot forget, are the coaches. They volunteer their time and passion for this sport to the athletes and make sure everyone has a good time, playing the sport they love. We will have 4 catagories in each age Class.
MVP: Most Valuable Player - an athlete who shows great skill in both practice and match. An individual who sticks out with their skill and performance and pushes the team to success. This award should go to the player that shows superior knowledge of Volleyball in their age class, who can help other players on and off the court to improve their own skill.
Coaches Choice Award - an athlete that shows dedication, passion, skills, and leadership to the team. That helps the coach and their team players before, during, and after practices and matches. This award should go to an individual who does not mind doing the extra mile. The athlete who shows respect for the team, coach, and their opponent, as well as leadership and dedication for the team, earns this award.
Rookie Of The Year - this award goes to the award that has just started in volleyball, and their performances and efforts to improve in this sport are standing out against others in their age classes. This award is only to be awarded that have entered our Volleyball League for the first time. The individual who should recieve this award, has improved tremendously throughout the year, and shows commitment and performs at 125%.
Athlete Of The Year - This award goes to the special athlete that shows incredible skills in their age class, very high dedication towards the league and their team, and respects, as well as, recieves as much respect as a player as they give to other athletes. This individual is known and recognized by all coaches and even players who stands out from all athletes by their superior skill, knowledge, and efforts towards their own team. This athlete helps the team, supports their team before, during and after their court time, and most of all supports the Coach.
Coaches Award - this award may go to any coach in their age class. It's one thing to recognize the athletes, but we also want to recognize the coaches. The Coaches Award is an award that goes to the individual with the most dedication and efforts towards their team. One that will spend time to prepare for the practices and matches, as well as, supports the team. This individual needs to have a great relationship with his/her players. The communication between coach and player determines the chemistry, efforts, and commitment amongst the team, which can and will lead to success. One Coach in each age class will receive this award and will be recognized by this league and also by parents and athletes.
